AUDIT COMMITTEE MEMBER REF. NO: Q9/2024/24 (X3 POSITIONS)

SALARY: Remuneration will be based on SAICA rates. Members will be reimbursed for preparation and attendance at meetings.

REQUIREMENTS: Applicants for Audit Committee membership should hold an undergraduate and postgraduate degree or equivalent qualification recognised by SAQA, with at least 10 years or more experience in the following fields: Accounting, Internal Audit, Risk Management, Information and Communication Technology, Compliance or Law/Investigations. Attributes: Applicants for the Audit Committee should have public sector knowledge and strong experience in Internal Audit, Governance and Risk Management, Information and Communication Technology, and Statutory and External Audit. They have experience/membership on the following Committees: Audit Committee, Risk Management Committee, IT Steering Committee, Ethics Committee and relevant Governing Body. Applicants with extensive knowledge and experience in the field of investigations, as well as those qualified for a CA/(SA), CIA, CISA or CFE, are encouraged to apply.

DUTIES: Applicants selected for the Audit Committee will be required to exercise their oversight mandate towards IPID by effectively executing the Audit Committee responsibilities outlined in the PFMA, Treasury Regulations and the approved Audit Committee Charter. The Audit Committee will report to the Executive Authority of the Ministry of Police to strengthen its independent oversight responsibilities. The Committee will meet at least four (4) times per year, with the authority to call additional meetings as circumstances require.
