REQUIREMENTS: Qualification allowing registration with SANC as a Staff Nurse (Registered Nurse). Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (2024). Must have a passion for nursing of psychiatric patients. Ability to be a team player must have critical and analytical thinking and good interpersonal and communication skills. , Public Service Regulation, Patients’ Charter of Rights, Batho Pele Principles, National Nursing Strategy and other legislative framework: Assisting with activities of daily living (Maintaining hygiene, providing nutrition and assisting with mobility and elimination processes Providing elementary clinical care (Measuring, interpreting and recording vital signs, Administering oral medication and injections under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. Execute the nursing care plan for the patient, including monitoring vital signs and other observations. Prepare and assist in diagnosis and therapeutic actions by a registered person. Accompany patients for clinical investigations when necessary. Conduct health education and other group activities for patients. Participate in infection prevention and control activities and other hospital committees. Report and record patient incidents as per hospital protocols. Maintain professional conduct as required by the Public Service Code of Conduct and SANC. Attend in-service training as required. Relieve on other wards when necessary. Must be willing to work day and night shifts.
